Often before beginning the day's work in the studio, an artist will warm up with several small gesture drawings or paintings, spontaneuous renderings that take no more than a few minutes each.

Though detail and completeness are lacking, these sketches are a window into the soul of the artist and a record of the deepest part of creativity.  These may be the seeds of larger,
more developed works, but more often than not, they just stay in the sketchbook.

But it is in these little sketches that the true gems of the artist's creativity are revealed, for they are fresh, imaginative and are small records of the artist's emotions that may influence what goes on the canvas for the rest of the day.

Sketchbooks are often hidden away, that part of the artist most collectors never see, until now.  Susan Barackman has decided to open her sketchbook, making them available to those who love art.
